The following is a list of information gathered from the PTSO Happenings newsletter sent home with your child.  This is a general over view.

PTSO Happenings

WELCOME to the first edition of the PTSO Happenings.  It is our hope that you will find needed information and be excited about the benefits your children are receiving through the PTSO.  You may find something in here that you would like to be involved in – and that’s great!! With each news worthy event you will find necessary contact information.

This month we will give you an update on the success of Fall Fest, the results of the Fall Fundraiser, our new web page, the plans with the Schwaan truck, looking ahead to the Secret Santa shop, welcome our new staff members, have a word from our president, and a shout out to the volunteers of our school.

Fall Festival

The Fall Fest had a great turn out! So many GREAT costumes and happy faces!  A few of those are posted on the web page.  Check it out!  (We would be happy to add a few more if we missed your child’s picture!)

We would like to thank the student government, teachers, and staff who came to work this event.  It wouldn’t happen without you!

Everything went very smoothly from the volunteers, to the donations, to the games and treats.  Thank you for participating in the Fall Fest!

FOR NEXT YEAR

We continue to work very diligently to provide a fun, safe, and secure Fest for your family.  Unfortunately we had some issues with the cake walk treats and sticky fingers.  However, we hope those who were affected received an adequate substitute.  Rest assured this fun area will be modified for the next Fest.

Fall Fundraiser

Did you enjoy this new fundraiser?  Home Interiors is a great product.  Here are the results of individual and class prizes:

Popcorn Class Party

Mrs. Brookshire’s kindergarten class

Miss Jenkins 4th grade class

Top Seller

Brianna Wutzke - $50 Walmart card

Runner Up

Alexia Douglas - $25 Walmart card

Total Sales:       $ 7,816.00

PTSO profit:      $ 3,908.00

As you can see we earned less than previous years.  The budget will be adjusted as needed.

Schwaan Truck

Chair:  Mimi Hegedus

As you know, our PTSO sponsors many school events.  That is what we are here for.  We are always looking for ways to generate more in the budget without placing a financial burden on anyone.

We are pleased to announce, that beginning in November, we will have a Schwaan Truck available once a month at dismissal time at both Millburg and Meadowbrook.

Here you can purchase your dinner needs, deal directly with the Schwaan man, and benefit the school all at once.

In the next few weeks we will have more information on the web page as well as a flyer going home with your child.

Secret Santa Shop

Chair: Susie Mance

Coordinator:

Yes!  We just had Halloween and there are three weeks until Thanksgiving!  This is the perfect time to begin planning for our Secret Santa shop to be held for the Elementary grades.

One of our great parents, Tanya Balkin, has volunteered to organize this years Secret Santa.  She will be looking for volunteers to wrap presents and a few other things.

Wanda, the Elementary school secretary, will be asking for volunteers.  Beat her to it and give her a call or email her that you can volunteer.  Any help is appreciated!!

Welcome new Staff!

The PTSO sends warm greetings to Patrick Zuccala and Kim Reinhart.  Mr. Zuccala is our new first grade teacher replacing Mrs. DeLaTorre.  Ms. Reinhart is our new math tutor.  WELCOME!!  We are glad to have you here!

 Thank you VOLUNTEERS!

The PTSO officers would like to thank every parent and grand parent who has volunteered at the school.  You have benefited us all!

Thank you!

 Presidents Corner

I would like to welcome you all to the PTSO.  The officers and I encourage you to get involved with your child’s education.  Whether you can volunteer in the classroom, help with field trips, or help at a PTSO event, it will benefit your child and the atmosphere of the school.  Of course, we warmly invite you to join us at a meeting, every third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.  Notification will be posted prior to the meeting to inform you of the location.  It will also be posted on our web page.
